A lot of folks feel overwhelmed by the thought of ordering an entire or half of beef.
We will walk you through every step of the way, and explain the above chart with you in detail.
We also offer payment plans for 6 months, to lessen the total due.
Reach out to us, if you're interested in beginning your beef order.
We will schedule a time that is convenient for you.
First thing is to be sure you have plenty of freezer space for your order.
A whole beef will require approximately 32.5 cubic feet of freezer space. A milk crate is the equivalent of a cubic foot (to give you an idea).
Usually a stand up freezer will accommodate an entire share of beef.
Live weight is the weight of the animal prior to butcher.
Hanging weight is the weight of the carcass hanging.
We raise jerseys cows. We raise the jersey steers for beef. Our steers are raised on pasture. Though they're not 100% grass fed, they are fed organic grain free of gmo's. We do not vaccinate the steers, and if they need medication, they are not butchered for over 3 months. Usually the steers are very healthy not requiring any medication, as they were dam raised, meaning they nursed milk from their Dams (mothers) for the first 3 months of their lives, giving them the all the natural antibodies possible.
We believe in raising our livestock as organically as possible. This also includes keeping all the livestock as stress-free as possible. Even on butcher day.
Our butcher comes to us, meaning he comes to the farm. This keeps their stress and fear levels as low as possible.
Our butcher will then take each steer, goat, etc, back to his butcher shop, in a refrigerated box truck, to custom cut the beef.
We feel this is the best and most humane way of raising livestock for beef.
If you've ordered beef, and know what you want, fill out our custom order form.
